FAQs

What types of businesses does your firm typically work with?

We work with purpose-driven small businesses and nonprofits at all stages—from solo entrepreneurs and small companies just getting started, to established organizations with $500K+ in annual revenue. Whether you're growing your team, hiring, or preparing for the next stage, we provide reliable legal support for your day-to-day questions, contracts, compliance, and protecting your intellectual property. We also work with organizations that do business with government entities or large corporations.

Is this affordable?

Here's the real question: can you afford not to have proper legal support? Like most things in business, or anything for that matter, fixing problems after they happen is far more expensive than being proactive. We make it easier to be proactive. Most of our services—including contract reviews, trademark applications, and legal templates—are offered at predictable flat fees so you know exactly what you're paying. For organizations that need consistent legal support, we offer monthly fractional general counsel plans—giving you access to experienced legal guidance at a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire Think of it as prevention rather than treatment. A little legal guidance and strategy now can save you from costly disputes, compliance issues, or intellectual property problems down the road.

Why would my business need fractional general counsel or compliance support?

Fractional counsel gives you dedicated legal support without the cost of a full-time hire. You get proactive legal strategy instead of only reacting when problems arise. This works especially well if you're growing, hiring employees or contractors, managing grants, navigating partnerships, or preparing to work with government or corporate entities. We can also step in as interim counsel when your counsel is on leave, or provide additional support to your existing general counsel without committing to another full-time position. We also offer fractional compliance support for organizations that need help managing regulatory requirements, grant compliance, or industry-specific regulations—giving you peace of mind that you're meeting your obligations without the overhead of a full-time compliance officer.

How do you help protect my intellectual property?

We help you identify all of the assets you’ve created — your brand, logo, content, creative work, programs, frameworks, course materials, and more — and determine what qualifies for protection. We also file and manage your trademark and copyright applications, handle Office Actions, and advise on enforcement when someone infringes on your IP.

What contracts do business owners typically need?

Most small businesses and nonprofits need:

  • Service agreements
  • Contractor and employment agreements
  • Vendor contracts
  • NDAs and confidentiality agreements
  • Partnership or collaboration agreements
  • Website terms and privacy policies
  • Licensing or content-use agreements We draft, review, and negotiate contracts to help you avoid risk, protect your assets, and ensure compliance.

Do you work with government contractors or corporate contractors?

Yes. We support organizations that work with government agencies or corporations, including reviewing contract requirements, ensuring internal processes are compliant, and helping you prepare documentation and reporting. We can also assist with legal workflows, templates, and policies needed to meet contract obligations.

I’m not sure what legal services my business needs. Can you help me figure it out?

Absolutely. Most clients begin with a consultation where we review your goals, current operations, and any potential risks. We then provide a roadmap prioritizing what needs to be done now vs. what can wait — tailored to your budget and growth plan.

How does your consultation process work?

At the time you schedule a consultation you’ll receive a short intake form so we understand your business and concerns. During the consultation, we discuss your goals, identify legal and operational gaps, and recommend next steps. If we're a good fit to work together, we'll send you a few options for working together, each with clear, flat-fee pricing

What industries do you work with?

We work across a range of industries, including creative businesses, professional service firms, nonprofits, coaching and education platforms, food and beverage, wellness and beauty brands, and social-impact organizations. Our focus is less on the industry and more on whether your organization is intentional about growth and values legal guidance.

What makes your firm different?

We combine legal, compliance, and operational experience, including serving as interim counsel inside organizations, so we understand how your business actually runs. Our approach is proactive, practical, and collaborative. Clients trust us because we build relationships, not billable hours, and we deliver clear, actionable guidance without legal jargon.
